Hawaii Weather |
|||||
The nice thing about traveling to Hawaii is the weather and climate are very stable throughout the year.
Sure there are storms and mild days on the islands, but as a rule the weather is almost always warm and sunny with a mild to moderate tradewinds gently blowing.
There's really no need to breakdown the weather in Hawaii by island as there isn't enough of a difference to justify it.
Seasonal Weather Trends
Mild temperatures throughout the year, moderate humidity, northeasterly
trade winds, and infrequent severe storms. For most of Hawaii, there are
only two seasons: "summer," between May and October, and "winter,"
between October and April.
Seasonal Weather Highs and Lows
Lows in the winter months of 73 or 74 degrees between late February
and March to an average high near 80 degrees in late September and
early October. The temperature variation from night to day is one or two
degrees
Rainfall in Hawaii
Near the ocean in the Hawaiian islands rainfall averages between 25 and
30 inches a year. In other areas there is as much as 10-15 times that
amount.
It's safe to assume that the higher elevations of the islands get substantially more rain. The most rain falls between 2,000 - 3,000 feet above sea level (rain forest) and it becomes much drier on the high slopes and volcanos (think volcano tours).
